Two fierce communities gathered together to truly battle it out at Aloha Stadium last night for the OIA Championship title. Tension had been building up all season for the Govs especially over the past two weeks or so. They had a an unbeaten season to defend and had some tough talent on their squad.
However it was a much different for Kahuku, they had a bigger statement to make. Our fight was not only for this season but for last season too, it was for all the boys that had put their heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into an unbeatable team, which may have been the most versatile team Kahuku had seen in years. It was for Deedee and Wily boy, it was for OIAs unfair ruling, it was because OC16 never televised a game this season, It was for the loss to Farrington earlier this season, it was so they can hold their heads up high and join the many generations of Kahuku Alum and it was epecially for all the HATERS!
With a 23 – 0 win over the Govs last night Kahuku made a statement that they wanted it more than Farrington did. Both Offense and Defense really stepped it up. Not only did Kahuku play with heart but most importantly how they could win with heart. after all was said and done despite all the tension, it was truly an awesome site to see both teams knealing in prayer after such a crazy game.
Good game boyz!! we are proud of you, thanks for showing us such a great example of how true champions should be!
